Prof. Yubin Lan

South China Agricultural University, China

Academician Lan Yubin is a Member of the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Humanities and Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He serves as Dean of the College of Electronic Engineering (College of Artificial Intelligence), Director and Chief Scientist of the National International Joint Research Center for Precision Agricultural Aviation Pesticide Application Technology at South China Agricultural University, and Chair of the International Commission on Precision Agricultural Aviation. As the founding pioneer of the international discipline of precision agricultural aviation, he first put forward the theoretical framework of precision agricultural aviation, with his research focusing on aerial precision pesticide application, low-altitude agricultural remote sensing, intelligent agricultural sensors and unmanned farm systems. After returning to China in 2014 and joining South China Agricultural University, he has vigorously promoted UAV plant protection technologies to address the prominent problem of excessive pesticide application in domestic agriculture, and led the construction of China’s first ecological unmanned farm. He has published more than 200 SCI/EI papers, obtained nearly 70 authorized invention patents, and authored authoritative monographs including Precision Agricultural Aviation Technology and Applications. He has long presided over major agricultural aviation research projects at home and abroad, built a global platform for exchange and cooperation in agricultural aviation, and significantly advanced the innovative development and large-scale application of China’s plant protection UAV industry and low-altitude technology system for smart agriculture. He has received numerous prestigious awards, among which the 9th Overseas Chinese Contribution Award stands out.
